We were able to extend our season far into November using an unheated hoop house. Ours is 12' by 20'. It traps the day's heat and releases it through the night to protect the plants from freezing even when the temperature drops below 20F. This time of year there are no bugs or diseases so the vegetables are about perfect. Retaining moisture is critical - the soil in the house must be watered frequently from the rain barrel or the hose. The pictures were taken 11/21/11.
