BIBLE STUDIES

Cottage

Bible Study

This Bible Study generally meets on Mondays in a home setting. Please call the church office at 223-5593 for current topics and locations.

Men’s Morning

Bible Study

Meets each Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m. in the Conference Room.  Gentlemen this is a great opportunity to “start your day”.

Joy Circle

(Jesus First, Others Second, Yourself Last) This is a group of women who meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month beginning at 7:30 p.m. They take turns meeting in each others homes.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Sunday School

Begins at 9:15 a.m.

3-yr old to 8th grade in classrooms

High School in Youth Room

Adult Bible Class in Fellowship Hall

Midweek/

Confirmation

Preparation for Junior Confirmation.  Classes for grades 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. They meet on Wednesdays at Central from 4:00-5:30.

Central Lutheran School

“Assisting parents to prepare their children for this life and the next”, is a mission function of St. John. 3 year old Preschool thru 8th grade.

Vacation Bible School

Preschool-6th grade enjoy learning more about God’s AWESOME Works through crafts, music, recreation and class time.  7th grade and up get involved by helping dedicated teachers put on an exciting week the first part of June.

 

 

MUSIC

Adult Choir

Practices on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Children’s Choirs

Preschool thru 3rd grade and 4th thru 8th grade both practice on Sunday mornings before Sunday school.

Junior Youth Group

3 C’s (Caring Christians Club)

A group of singles and married couples that meet the 3rd Sunday of each month for fellowship.  Typically starting at 7:00 p.m. Activities include progressive supper, mystery meal, bowling, dartball, picnics, caroling, mission activities and topic discussions to name a few.

Friendship Club

An “older” fellowship group that normally meets the 2nd Sunday of the month.  Activities include Bible Studies, guest speakers, progressive suppers, bowling with 3’C’s, theater outing. Typically beginning at 7:00 p.m. No meetings in July and August.

Lamplighters

The seasoned citizens of St. John who gather the 3rd Tuesday of the month in the afternoon, May through December.  Pastor Rempfer has a topic and leads in a Bible Study followed by games and refreshments.

SERVICE GROUPS

Tabithia Society

(LWML) Lutheran Women’s Missionary League are the women of St. John who provide many services within the church and also through their mission work outside the church.  They welcome all women of the church to serve on committees such as Altar, Flower, Social, or to help with donations or funeral dinners.  They meet the 2nd Thursday of each month for regular meetings.

Quilters

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief. This group meets to sew and tie quilts for Lutheran World Relief.  All are welcome at any time.

Voters’ Assembly

Any communicant member is welcome to join the Voters’ Assembly which meets the 2nd Wednesday of every other month.  Through Voters you have an opportunity to serve on Congregational Boards and Committees.
